In this post, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of programming your ONN Universal remote, both with and without codes.
How to program an ONN universal remote with codes: Direct Code Entry
Step 1: Power on the device you wish to program.

Step 2: Press the “Program” button until the power button LED lights up red.

Step 3: Press the corresponding button for the device you want to program. There are six main options: TV, SAT/CBL, AUDIO, B-RAY/DVD, STREAM, and OTHER.

Since we are programming a TV in this example, we have to press the “TV button”.
Step 4: After pressing the TV button, the red LED indicator on the Power button will blink once and remain on.

Step 5: From the code list provided in the blog post at this link, enter the four-digit code that corresponds to your particular TV model.

Step 6: If the code you entered is valid, the power button’s red LED will shut off.

Step 7: In that case, test the remote with the device to make sure all the buttons work as expected. Try pressing buttons such as volume up or down and channel up or down.
If some of the buttons/features don’t work, repeat the process or try the Auto Code Search method described below.

Step 8: If the code you entered is invalid, the power button’s red LED will flash and remain on.
Step 10: In that case, go back to Step 5 above and re-enter another code.

Step 1: Power on the device you wish to program.

Step 2: Press the “Program” button until the power button’s LED lights up red.

Step 3: Press the corresponding device button for the device you want to program. There are six main options: TV, SAT/CBL, AUDIO, B-RAY/DVD, STREAM, and OTHER.
In this example, we will program a TV. Once pressed, you will notice that the “Power button’s” red LED will blink once and remain on.

Step 4: Hold down the “OK button” on your ONN universal remote control while aiming it at the TV. Auto Code search may take up to 10 minutes so you must be patient.

During this time, your remote will transmit a series of codes to the TV. The Power button’s red LED will blink each time a code is automatically tested.

While still holding the “OK button”, keep pointing the ONN universal remote at the TV until the device turns off.

Step 5: The TV will turn off once the correct code is found. To save the code to the memory of the ONN universal remote control, release the “OK button” as soon as the device turns off.
Step 6: After releasing the “OK button”, the “Power button’s” red light will turn off.

Step 7: Test the remote with the device to make sure all the buttons work as expected.
Try powering on the device using the ONN remote’s power button, and test other buttons such as volume up or down and channel up or down.

If some of the buttons/features don’t work, repeat the process from “Step 1”, or try the Direct Code Entry method described above.
