What are the A2849, A2848, A2847, and A2846 iPhone Models?
A2849, A2848, A2847, and A2846 are the model numbers for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, 15 Pro, 15 Plus, and 15, respectively, for the United States and Puerto Rico. These iPhone 15 models can only use an eSIM as there is no physical sim card slot present on the device. They are also the only iPhone 15 models that have support mmWave5G

mmWave 5G
The U.S. and Puerto Rican 15 Pro Max A2849, 15 Pro A2848, 15 Plus A2847, and 15 A2846 are the only models that support mmWave 5G.
The pill-shaped groove on the right side of the iPhone, just below the power button, serves as physical evidence of this.
That pill-shaped groove is a 5G mmWave antenna, and it is not found in the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max models from other countries and regions.
Dual eSIM capability
The iPhone 15 Pro Max A2849, 15 Pro A2848, 15 Plus A2847, and 15 A2846 don’t have a physical SIM card slot.
They can only use an eSIM. According to Apple, the phone supports up to eight eSIM numbers. However, only two of them can work simultaneously in a Dual eSIM configuration.
The 15 Pro Max A2849, 15 Pro A2848, 15 Plus A2847, and 15 A2846 are the only iPhone models that come with the Dual eSIM feature.
