Galaxy A20 Display

For such a low price point, the Samsung Galaxy A20 has an impressive display. It’s 6.4inch Super AMOLED screen has punchy colors, decent viewing angles and is reasonably bright in daylight. Apart from the thick chin, the bezels are slim. That results in approximately 85% screen to body ratio. The selfie camera lays in an infinity V notch at the top. The display resolution is 1560 by 720 at 268ppi. Unlike some budget smartphones, this one comes with Widevine CDM certification. So you can watch H.D. video content from services like Netflix.

Performance and battery life

Large bright displays consume a lot of battery. Luckily enough, the Samsung Galaxy A20 Also has a massive 4000 mAh battery. From 100% It can last about a full day of use for medium to heavy usage. Light users may get up to two days of battery life. The phone comes with a 15W fast charger. It takes about 1h 45mins to charge it from nearly 0 to 100%. It’s Exynos 7884 processor, and Mali G71 MP2 GPU are both less demanding on the battery. This smartphone comes with 3 G.B. ram and 32 G.B. storage which is extendable by a dedicated micro S.D. card slot. Samsung Galaxy A20 runs Samsung’s One U.I. on android Pie.

The Galaxy A20 is good enough for regular use. One U.I. makes it smooth and responsive as long as you are not multitasking. Don’t use multiple applications in the background because it will slow down considerably. The Exynos 7884 can handle less demanding games like candy crush at high settings. However, it will only manage to play resource-demanding games like PUBG and Mobile legends at the lowest settings. In short, this phone is not suitable for any form of heavy-duty usage.

Galaxy A20 Build Quality

This whole package comes in a polycarbonate plastic body. It’s back is glossy and tries to mimic a glasslike appearance. Plastics are a lot more durable than glass. Therefore, it wouldn’t sustain damage as easily as a glass back would do. Also, it is a lot less slippery than glass. On the flip side, it takes scratches very quickly. The back has nicely curved edges, which improves ergonomics and makes it pleasant to hold. However, the tall nature of the Samsung Galaxy A20 makes it a two-handed phone. On the right side are the volume and power buttons. The left bears the sim and S.D. card slot. At the bottom, you find a loudspeaker, USB C port, and a headphone jack.

The plastic poly carbonate body of the Samsung galaxy A20 is sturdy and has a glass like appearance. It is also less slippery. But it is prone to scratches. Read the full review at techandcoolstuff.com

Galaxy A20 Camera

On the back of the Galaxy A20, are the fingerprint sensor and a dual-camera setup. The dual-camera has a primary 13MP lens and a 5MP 123-degree wide-angle lens. In proper lighting conditions, it produces decent detail, sharpness, color accuracy, and dynamic range. Low light shots from the primary lens have a little bit of noise and are barely usable. But the wide-angle lens produces poor grainy pictures in low light conditions. This camera is capable of 1080p recording at 30 fps but lacks any form of image stabilization. Selfies from the front-facing 8MP camera are useable but soft and sometimes blown out.

Verdict

Samsung focused on making the Galaxy A20 more of an affordable entry-level smartphone for the masses. It’s a simple, well-built, and durable device. At such a low price point, it has an amazing Super AMOLED display and excellent battery life. It is sufficient for doing the basics like browsing, chatting, calling, emails, and videos. It has a headphone jack making it convenient for listening to music with wired or wireless headphones. The camera is good in well-lit conditions but deficient in low light conditions. And finally, the plastic polycarbonate body is scratch-prone. Keep all this in mind if you are interested in buying one.
