What’s the KH/A iPhone 15 Pro Max, 15 Pro, 15 Plus, and 15?

Have you ever been shopping for an iPhone 15 and come across one with a part number that ends in KH/A? Are you wondering from which country this specific iPhone model originates? If so, then you’ve come to the right spot. In this blog post, I will reveal the country of origin of the KH/A iPhone and discuss its features.

What’s the KH/A iPhone 15?

All iPhone 15 models that have a part number ending in KH/A originate from South Korea. This is the model that Apple makes and supplies for use exclusively in South Korea. KH/A are the last three letters in their part numbers. For example, the South Korean iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB Blue Titanium has the following part number: MU7A3KH/A.

Features of the South Korean KH/A iPhone 15

SIM configuration

The KH/A iPhone 15 series uses a dual SIM card configuration, with support for eSIM and one nanoSIM card slot. According to Apple, the eSIM on iPhones can save up to eight numbers, but only one of them can be active at a time.

The camera shutter sound lock

By default, the South Korean iPhone 15 models produce a camera shutter sound each time you take a picture. The thing is, you can’t turn off this camera shutter sound as long as you use this particular iPhone model in Korea. This is similar to the Japanese iPhone version, which I discussed in an earlier blog post.

Fortunately, there’s a solution. As discussed in this other blog post, some people have confirmed they were able to mute the camera shutter sound on this model while using it outside of Korea. You can also watch this video to find out more about it.

Remove the sim tray and look at the top side of the sim tray slot. The model number written there is very tiny so you need a very bright overhead light and perhaps a lens.

3) Check on the iPhone’s box

If the iPhone is not yet unboxed, you can check its model number and part number by looking at the backside of its box.
